Meet your teacher
Jeanne-Marie has been teaching her paperclay techniques for almost 10 years now, online and in person and in different parts of the world. She will be teaching her specific methods throughout this week. Her unique style in hand building clay and storytellling will bring delightful new ways to experience this medium.
You will greatly benefit from her gentle and intuitive approach to sculpture and clay work.

YOUR TIME WITH JEANNE-MARIE INCLUDES:
Your week will be filled with exploring your paperclay combined with the art of 3D storytelling.
She will be incorporating organic elements (feathers , quills and bones, shells and driftwood) to each demonstration as well as having a focus on finding and using inspiration from this sacred little village of Orvieto. She will also be focusing on helping you build stories into each piece, together with hands and gestures to find emotion in each figurine. You will spend dedicated time throughout the week completing each story beautifully with paint and ephemera.

IN THE WORKSHOP YOU WILL:

Discuss the paperclay and organic elements
Different kinds of armatures
Learn how to sculpt with paper clay
Make creative 3D portraiture.
Using those faces in a continued way to make beings.
Sculpting expressive hands to add mystery and emotion to your works
Touring while we allow our pieces to dry
Using mixed media, paint and ephemera to decorate our works and finish their stories.
Problem solving as they appear, techniques to help mend all issues.
Heighten your sense of observation, sense of color, form and aesthetics
Create beautiful and soulful art that you will treasure for years to come
Mornings will be spent in creative exploration, either in the studio or out around Orvieto. In the afternoon you will experience the culture of Italy. It might be a tour into the Etruscan caves, a cooking class, or a vineyard visit. There will also be plenty of free time to explore Orvieto on your own or enjoy extra studio time. You will receive a more detailed itinerary for the week in your final information packet sent before you travel.
Because Italian cuisine is such fun, some meals are not prearranged allowing you the freedom to choose where and what to eat.
Recommendations are offered and no one eats alone!

The balance including single room supplement of $150 USD and optional activities, if any, is due as indicated on the registration form, which is approximately 90 days prior to trip commencement.
